How to tell if an Android game has ads

The quickest check is the line under the game's title on Google Play. If it says "Contains ads", the developer has declared advertising in the app. No label means no declared ads. "In-app purchases" is a separate label, so a game can have purchases and still show you no ads at all.

Watch out for names. "No ads" in a title can mean no forced ads, with optional video ads for rewards still inside, and such games usually keep the "Contains ads" label. Scroll down to the description too, since the best ad-free games tend to say so plainly.

Ratings: US Google Play, November 2026. Cozy Fishing has no public rating yet.
